Water, color and light in the desert

Musical dancing fountain at Guelmims square

In 2014, the Moroccan city of Guelmim increased its attractions with the inauguration of a architectural fountain that gave life to one of the city’s more relevant places. The local authorities decided to build a fountain that joined the presence of water with a changing and colorful illumination, all synchronized by music. This sum of features and appliances created a great dancing and light fountain that is currently one of the most beautiful and modern places in the city. Read More

Capital of the region

Guelmim is a city located in the province of the same name, in the Moroccan Guelmim-Esmara region. It is the capital of the province and the region and is only 30 kilometers from the Atlantic shore, 125 from Tiznit and about 200 kilometres from Agadir. The local authorities of Guelmim desired to build a beautiful fountain with cutting-edge systems that joined the music and light attractive to the refreshing presence of water.

Affordable and quality materials

The firm entrusted to accomplish the Guelmim fountain project was Gotamat. Though the project was already finished they needed to find affordable materials and systems that were more competitive than those prescribed by the municipality, but always meeting the quality standards. In order to get them they contacted Safe Rain who was able to understand the customer’s needs and adapt their proposals to the project.

Water jets, light and music

The Guelmim dancing fountain has 48 1 ½” water jets, 4 3” water jets and 24 1 ½” lance water jets. The water or fountain jets are of two types: foamy and crystalline, creating a fine texture contrast that melts with the water’s synchronized movement. This fountain also includes 82 Lake LED RGB lights, controllable by DMX technology or by RGB controllers. This system allows choosing the desired colors in order to illuminate the fountain in different moments, letting a full control of the water, light and music show.

As this is a musical fountain, it needs to be controlled by a panel that centralizes the aquatic and color show. This way the synchronization of the different effects is guaranteed so the fountain shines with harmony and grandeur.

A contemporary project

The musical fountain of Guelmim, a project by Gotamat with Safe Rain technology, is already one of the most attractive places in the city. It brings the nights to life with its light and color show, and embellishes the days with the reflections and freshness of water. A place that sparkles with water in a land where desert is king.
