Juan David Crespo

Juan David Crespo entered Safe-Rain by March 2000. As an industrial engineer in electronics, he was part of the technical team of the company when it was decided to give an important push the architectural fountains section. His first developments were in electronic nature, the development of a unique programmer for fountains, IP68 lighting, etc. In those days, along with head coach Carlos Velasco, many of the products we sell today were developed. Since 2006 to date, he is responsible of Safe-Rains production. Thanks to sales growth in architectural fountains section, a large investment was made in automatic industrial machinery, cheapening processes that were previously manual. Currently Juan David Crespo continues as head of production and actively collaborates with the R&D section in the development of new products.

Juan David Crespo entró en Safe-Rain en marzo del 2000. Como ingeniero técnico industrial en electrónica  formó parte del equipo técnico de la empresa cuando ésta se propuso dar un impulso importante a la sección de fuentes ornamentales. Light for highlights

Fountain lights are really important in order to display all the beauty and water movement in an architectural fountain. Even though sunrays reflect on the water and create gorgeous sparkles and light effects, in the daylight many features are missing as we cannot highlight the different elements through a proper use of light. So it is during the night when it is possible to enhance all the characteristics of an architectural fountain – the absence of natural light lets us play with different kinds of lights and colors so we can highlight water jets and features. When we believed that almost everything had been said and done in water use as a decorative element, emerged a new expression of this concept; someone came up with a water "printer". Somebody thought to combine water and gravity to create amazing effects, letters, logos, graphics, etc. Basically, what we call "digital water curtain" is that. A spray ring of a certain length, in which series of water outlets, which through almost instant response solenoids, are drawing with water all those characters that are programmed in a software that manages the opening and closing of the valves. Simple, isn't it?

As I said before, from my point of view is simple. I will explain the components included in a facility of this type so that we all agree on the simplicity of the installation.Read More

Fuente danzarina DancingAs we all know, the trend in the sector is to bring dynamism to water. This is why we are launching two rotating nozzles, used to obtain attractive water displays, which can be added to the design of any musical, dancing or cybernetic water feature.

Our experience in the production of impact sprinklers for gardening has been fundamental for the design of these rotating fountain nozzles. These sprinklers rotate at a certain speed due to water pressure. This is the principle behind the operation of a waterwheel. Therefore, generating movement from water pressure does not pose a technical difficulty for Safe Rain. We have now decided to use this fact to create architectural water features that are extremely simple to construct, but with great visual beauty, as the water moves without any additional mechanical or electrical devices.Read more

Underwater solenoid valves for water feature fountains

More and more frequently, architectural fountains and interactive play fountains are designed in such a way that their regular operating mode includes changing water displays,  which may or may not follow musical sequences, accompany image projections, etc. There are fewer and fewer static water fountains in which the pump unit works at full capacity from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., with the lighting operating from 8 to 10 p.m., for example.
